This isn't a complete review, just a bit of rambling commentary for the benefit of my friends. Mostly various forms of alternate history (some time travel, some alternate universes or multiple universes, and some straightforward single-turning-point alternate history.) Some stories better than others - certainly, the first story in the book is great. Many of the stories are set in Texas, where the author lives; my familiarity with Texas made some of that more enjoyable - and sometimes more annoying. An occasional small dose of Texas-typical political views. Many of the stories are quite short - useful for reading in small doses (public transportation, little porcelain throne, etc.) though that also means that they lack even as much depth as one might want from a short. Still, not unsatisfying, just not as thoughtful as they could be.
