Did Maggie Gates have me sobbing only an hour after I'd woken up? Well, yes, but I guess that's what I get for reading while I eat breakfast. This book hooked me from page one. Leah and Logan were such an incredibly beautiful, relatable couple that had you rooting for them from the start. Both characters are fierce and protective in their own rights, but the way they become that for each other as well... sigh. Just so freaking good.
The way Maggie brought all of these gorgeous, flawed and loving characters together to form their family was *chef's kiss* perfection. This is a standalone, but I understand The Poker Club series ties into these characters and I'm immediately adding all of them to my TBR.
As you near the end and the labor, please prepare your tissues because I freaking sobbed. It was so vivid and visceral, so full of emotions. Ah. Just so freaking good. And when they finally decided on a name? Oh, yes, just let me take my glasses off because I can't see through my freaking tears.
Anyway... if you like one night stands turned pregnancy, friends to lovers, found family, overcoming family trauma, learning to trust and rely on each other, spice and banter, this one is probably for you.

I am actually really disappointed in this book… I normally really like to read a Maggie Gates book, but this one completely missed the mark. It was overly cheesy, the dialogue was a miss, the conflicts were just…not handled well. This won’t stop me from reading her next books, but I honestly could not believe this is the product she published… Would have DNF’d if it weren’t Maggie Gates and if I didn’t want to give her some kindle unlimited royalties.
Enjoyability: 1/5
Plot: 3/5 (not a huge fan of accidental pregnancy but not the end of the world)
Writing Style: 2/5
Ease of reading: 2/5 (won’t lie, I skimmed a few sections; I wanted to DNF)
Thought-provoking: 1/5
