Cute read with no third act breakup and some very swoony moments. Loved all the side characters and I'm interested in reading some of their books. I love that these two ended up together. The MMC took such good care of her, was soft and gentle with her, and he had some moments that had me going kicking my feet giggling.

The found family aspect with Logan and William really warmed my frozen heart. Definitely had a couple tears fall at that last part.

Things that kept this from the 5 star read I wanted it to be:

1. The characters fell a little flat, especially the FMC, and some issues with important characters in their lives that were brought up as points of conflict were either not resolved or r resolved off page.

2. Didn't like that we didn't get an explanation for WHY he felt like he needed to leave his hometown so badly until like 57% in. The reasoning makes sense, but he kept talking about how much he needed to get away from there when everything he valued and missed was there so it didn't make sense until then.

3. The FMC is the sister's BSF and they're like the closest ever. Like SO close. And they prove it multiple times. She was the only friend that stuck by her then things went bad for their family, AND everyone that was friends with that family saw the FMC as their family too (that say this so many times). But she sure doesn't know a lot about their family and friends??? Like Monday poker nights, etc. That was an event that everyone's friends went to, but when the MMC took her to it, he had to explain what would happen so she wasn't nervous. Had her BSF never invited her? Never invited her to their huge friendsgiving?? The Thanksgiving thing I understand bc she had been with her own family, but she never went to anything else??

4. Random continuity issues. He calls her apartment a studio when he first visits and comments on small and cramped it is, but later when he visits her, there's a separate bedroom with a door he has to knock on. Or her sitting in her car with the "heat pumping" in the middle of summer.

‼️ Spoiler

“I went back and found stamps for all the early weeks, but from that week on, I’d hunt down a stamp that had whatever size fruit or vegetable or flower the baby was.” 🥹😭😭😭😭
