Been wanting to read this book for a while and OH MY GOD am I glad I abandoned all my other responsibilities to take it off my shelf. My first taste of LM montgomery and i am proud to say that my uncultured self will be reading anne of green gables next. Valancy was such a raw and relatable character, the writing was gorgeous, and the romance had me smiling and giggling in a car full of people. 10/10 read go devour it now.

Love this book but it is a product of its time
the blue castle is different to me every read.
sometimes it makes me feel so seen, sometimes the atmosphere of it fills me with wonder; sometimes i can’t see past the flaws, and sometimes it’s a comfortable place to just switch my brain off and be.
logically, i know that this is in need of some good editing (some details were out of order/place) and some of the plot points were so obvious but it truly, madly, deeply does! (cannot emphasize this enough) fill me with such joy.
it really is like home- a little dysfunctional but safe and warm.
