Y'all know I love short fiction, and when Jeffrey Ricker was kind enough to deliver five of his short pieces through his mailing list (you should sign up for it, head on over here) it was a great way to spend a couple of afternoon breaks.

First off, I chuckled my way through "How to Make a Soufflé in 38 Easy Steps," and then enjoyed my walk through a little adventure with bigfoot, a little sigh of understanding (and maybe sadness) with "Peripheral," and a lovely dog who might be (or might not be) more than he seems with the nearly haunting "Shepherd," and finally things got a little bit maudlin with "Multiverse."

It's a lovely sampler, definitely shows the talent of Ricker, who you should totally be reading.
