Dead Men Don't Cry by Nancy Fulda

Not quite what I had expected after reading 'Movement'. I'm currently reading many short stories to find the type I like best. The stories presented here often include parents in tricky situations, with a lot of action and moraly difficult situations. This does not appeal to me. I suspect that with the shortness of space, I find the action more distracting than helpful. 'Movement' followed the same theme but from the perspective of the child that had little agency. This unique perspective of a difficult situation spoke to me much more. It's like Rothfuss' Slow Regard of Silent Things - little action, much room for thoughts and feelings.
So I did not enjoy this book personally, but it taught me something. :)
