I imagine what drew me to this one was it didn't sound like your typical YA setting. A high security prison where many inmates die horribly wasn't exactly your typical fantasy story setting, and I'm pleased to say it didn't disappoint. The high stakes horrifying death trials, secret royalty, and certain plot twists I wasn't expecting kept me wanting to read until the last page and beyond. I'm thrilled I ordered Fairyloot's edition of this sequel.

Woah! What a great book! I didn’t know what to expect going into this book, had no expectations prior and hadn’t heard anyone else’s opinions before reading it.
To say I was pleasantly surprised by this book is an understatement!
Unlike anything else that I have read, The Prison Healer was a breath of fresh air to read. I was instantly captivated and intrigued in the story, world building, unique setting and magic system. The characters were brilliant and interesting. The plot held a great pace and I didn’t want to put this book down! This book was sooo close to being a 5 stars but I just didn’t get *that feeling* but gosh it was close! That plot twist at the end left me GAGGED and the cliffhanger had me HUNG!! I’m so excited to read the next one (once I get my hands on it- ASAP!)
