Read this a second time with my kids. It’s lots of fun! There are lots of nautical terms and my kindle came in handy. Kids (age 11 and 14) enjoyed it too

When the captain moves into the Admiral Benbow Inn, Jim Hawkins can't help speculating on his past and future. When a group of ruthless priates descend on the Inn, they deliver the dreaded black spot to the captain who promptly dies. Searching through his sea trunk for gold to pay the captain's bill, Jim finds a map of Treasure Island. The map when shown to the gentleman Squire, leads to the mounting of a treasure-seeking expedition. This rousing adventure is peopled with treacherous pirates in search of buried treasure.

It's the original children's book on treasure hunting and piracy. You can tell that it's been around for a while, but still it's an amazing story - especially if you're a bit adventurous yourself... or 12 :)
