This was my first Andy Weir book and I think it will probably be my last. I thought the science and general plot were pretty interesting and I did legitimately like Rocky, but I kind of hate Weir’s writing. In particular the dialogue/narration felt juvenile and cringey, I honestly don’t think I’ve ever rolled my eyes so much at a book, and the characterizations were pretty terrible - and as a very character-driven reader that’s kind of a recipe for disaster.
