Okay, I can't really give it a five stars but it is worth the four.
Sunny, I know you will never read this, but you broke my heart.
Darrel, you two , don't worry.
Normally I don't like found family tropes but god it is good. Sunny is really A SUNSHINE LIKE. This girl kept her chin up whenever Darrel insulted her and I really admire that. Plus not a lot of bullies regret that much and I felt really bad for her when she learned the truth..
Of course, I felt bad for Darrel, he lost her sister and got bullied by the love of his life ( by accident ). and I really admire him for not breaking down and forgiving her. His love were so hard, strong and powerful he just told her IN FRONT OF HER MOTHER HE LOVED HER FOR GOD SAKE. I want a man like that in my life.
Finally, I feel like I must talk about Bailey and Michael. These kids are incredible and though but it made me smile so much when Sunny coaxed them that easily compared go Darrel.
Just go read that book if you haven't.

Sunny and Derrek were adorable! I definitely appreciated that they used the second chance romance trope in a new a fresh way! I think my main complaint with this is just how everything kinda works out perfectly. Between the kids just basically being handed to Derrek to Sunny almost immediately becoming financially stable.

Honestly didnt like any of the characters i dont stand sunny at all. And darrel got boring woth all his neuro stuff like we get u studied this thing but honestly creepy that every thought process he has to explain what happens in the brain. And really that enemies to lovers got boring, now they are together she knows he is hoodie guy i know they will break and he will grovel and get back together and tbh i dont want to read that. Specially when its just him begging to be with her. I love a strong woman with loud opinions but its not ok to go around the world thinking u r always right and not accepting when u are wrong and expecting everyone to bend over for u.

I can't stand Darrel. He acts like Sunny has the Plague, berates her, mocks her, is pushy and rude with her but then turns around and wonders how she doesn't know he's in love with her. What really turned me off is the date between him, her, and Garbo, where he proceeded to tell Garbo he was basically childish for not telling his traditional Mayan mother about his degree in law and that it would “end badly.” Ironic coming from the man who's hiding a major secret—they went to the same highschool and something happened between them, as far as I can tell—from Sunny. Darrel is a raging jerk who wants to hate Sunny and have Sunny in the same breath and treats like shit because of his own baggage.
