I think the only thing I had a problem with was the Superman-Prime issue. In trying to give some background info on him, it summarized Infinite Crisis, which I don't mind. But that summary was so long, I might as well have been actually reading Infinite Crisis. Also, I feel like anybody who is reading this book has probably already read Infinite Crisis, so was it really all that necessary? Maybe, maybe not. I mean, it was good, don't get me wrong.
But anyway, I really liked everything in this book. The background info on some Sinestro Corps members was fun, especially when you see that info referenced in the actual Sinestro Corps War book. And the Parallax issue was GREAT!
I think my favorite part, though, is the encyclopedia-esque section at the end that tells you a little about (basically) every character in the GL mythos. Way cool.

This was a nice intro to the Sinestro Corps! As a complete newbie learning about the GL universe, it was good to get a look at "the other side."

Since I hadn't read far enough back to get some of the backstories, it was nice getting a look at pieces of them.

This is the first skippable portion of Johns's run on Green Lantern/Green Lantern Corps. It's not by any means bad, it's just a collection of filler stories to flesh out some of the characters involved in the Sinestro Corps War. And while it starts out focused on members of the Sinestro Corps, eventually it, like all Green Lantern books, ends up being about Kyle Rainer, Hal Jordan, John Stewart, and Guy Gardener.
There are some helpful backstories for those completely unfamiliar with Lantern lore, but none of it is necessary, nor did it add to my enjoyment of the larger series.

A good collection to get caught up on the who's who in the current Green Lantern arc, but most of the stories are weak. For new readers and complete-ists only.

These backup stories from the main event aren't much to write home about.
I talk a little about this run in a Green Lantern themed episode of the All the Books Show: https://soundcloud.com/allthebooks/off-the-books-no-one-asked-green-lantern-first-flights

Some background tales of Sinestro Corps members and a few Green Lantern ones too. I really liked the first part of this but the last half seemed kinda filler, as it was Green Lantern Corps stuff and then files on different things involving this story. Still a great read.
