Stunning read. I feel like I didn't understand anything about Google or Facebook before reading this book. Fascinating connections between tech, human nature, and freedom.

Very hard to get through. Repetitive and over complicated. The writer needed a better editor.

Self-important writing. Thoughts jump all over the place and ideas are rarely elaborated on within a chapter. Over-complicated terminology is pointlessly used in a manner which fails to enhance the ideas discussed. Overall, poorly written and not informative for anyone who has a working knowledge of predictive advertising.

(Audiobook) wow. Before listening to this book, I never realized how deeply ingrained technology is in society...specifically the political and social influence technology companies have over the day to day decisions in our lives. Moreover, I like how some of the examples used to demonstrate the unknowing takeover of surveillance capitalism is partly due to the public's inability to grasp how such a thing can occur. Much like how socialism and communism were first seen in their budding stages.
