dark tense
The first chapter is so scary, I don't think I'll ever be able to  forget it. Dark Before Dawn is perfect for readers who like competent heroes that might be able to stop vicious, psychopathic murderers.

In the mountains near Los Angeles some murders have occurred with no pattern to them.
Gabriel McRay is assigned to the murders but he must battle his own demons to remember the past and catch the killer

Pretty good mix of psychology and forensics. Turned into a real page turner about halfway through the book. I'll be looking for the next installment.
