What a cool premise. I also liked that *spoilers* the happy ending wasn’t necessarily with the guy.
There was a supernatural element without it being hokey or over the top. Great read!

Really enjoyed this book. I like the characters and even though it didn't end how I thought it might, it still wrapped everything up and ended nicely.

“The Last Phone Booth in Manhattan” is a magical holiday themed book about a woman, Avery, who is mysteriously guided on a Dickensian journey of self discovery and realizes that she lost herself and needs to reclaim her identity. While it is not a true retelling, this gives off strong vibes of “A Christmas Carol” when Avery is presented with her past and her present allowing her to choose her own path to the future.

Be warned, It is not a Romance, although there is a love interest. It is heavy on the New York Brodway scene which I found interesting, but may turn some people off. The emotional depth of the characters were pretty flat despite all the life changing events that took place and sometimes the dialog felt stiff. And for some reason I was particularly distracted by her spending habits

I loved this book! It was such a feel good read. I enjoyed the way that Avery’s journey embodied A Christmas Carol and thought the ending was perfect.

3x the character let go of a breath she didn't realize she was holding.

Other than that, it was a pretty cute story!

I just cannot stand Avery. I feel bad for her but I just cannot stand her. The whole situation feels fake, it's reminiscent of the Wattpad fics where they have everything and anything, money galore and *GASP* it all disappears and it's a hard knock life. I wanted to love it, but Avery just grated my nerves and is so out of touch. Even giving the homeless woman her coat felt self gratifying not out of the goodness of her heart.

Cute book with Magical realism. I wish the phone booth had more of a staring role and I forgot the ending…
