i liked this a lot more than the first book! I'm thinking it's a mixture of this one just being better and the fact I've read more books that are going for this vibe than I had before. they are mostly terrible - so I appreciate this series all the more. maybe it seemed less cheesy because some of the world building was already set up? either way the cute puff fluff was balanced well with the spooky stuff - ghosts! demons! mystery!

Arguably not as good as Payback's A Witch, but I love Thistle Grove and I love the family dynamics so much. Really glad that Talia had a big role here. Can't wait until someday we get a Thorn child POV (please please please). The green magic is !!!!! my all time fave.
