This was SUCH a fun look at Lothal outside of how we see it in Rebels (or as we see it in Pryce's view in the Thrawn novels), and even just the day to day of normal citizens on planets that the Empire moves into. For a children/young reader's book, I love how it doesn't pull the punches for the harm that the empire causes and that it goes right out and says "hey sometimes direct action doesn't end well but it's the first step needed to make a change". I took so many screenshots as I was reading because so many lines stood out to me and made me go "YEAH! THAT'S THE HEART OF STAR WARS!!!" I'm so excited to dive into the others to flesh out the time that we see in the series itself, and then how it expands beyond that!

Follows Rebel in the Ranks very well. I found the narrative very gripping and didn't want to put it down.

A good continuation to the series, the plot continues to progress and the characters continue to develop. My biggest complaint is the lack of chapters, with the book being divided half and half, with no clearly marked stopping/navigation points. A wonderful addition to the canon.
