A fun and informative book for girls. While I’m too “old” to be reading this, I found so many things extremely informative, interesting, helpful, and just plain fun. From real life princesses to female pirates to how to change a tire and build a campfire, this book is well rounded enough that even the young at heart can enjoy it.

I hate to admit I learned more from this than maybe even some girls and understand the concept of the book to go back to the roots of childhood before electronics when you really had to do everything from scratch. It will be extremely fun for moms to read with their little girls and reflect on their own childhood as well as teaching their children.

Great book full of ideas that harken from yesteryear when life was a little more simple. Also full of history and facts. We used it when we did not have tv for a month. It gave us lots of ideas.

A lot of the content is still useful, even 16 years later. I’d always wanted to learn how to hold my hair up with a pencil!

I thoroughly enjoyed flipping through this book. Creatively I was drawn to the way it gave an "old world" type feel. There is a lot interesting information in it and I have actually considered buying it for my soon to be 8 year old niece.

I think this book might be more for adult women that want to wax nostalgic about days long ago. I have a hard time seeing my eight year old caring about many of the topics listed inside. I thought the book for boys was a better collection.

It's a shame that the "For Boys" author decided to arbitrarily divvy up childhood fun by gender. I considered these as Christmas presents for a niece and a nephew, but perusing them in the store, I could not justify telling a girl that her job is to make friendship bracelets while her brother makes the model rockets. All the activities in both books looked fun, but one's quantity of X chromosomes really shouldn't factor into whether one enjoys skipping stones or not.
