i adored these two, but this was a little too insta-love for me. would've loved if this could've taken over a much longer time frame, let their feelings grow from attraction to adoration to love.

I enjoy reading this book. I think the marriage of convenience and fake dating were written so well. I like how the characters were fighting with their attractions to each other. I love how The characters fell involve with each other’s personalities. I enjoy reading how they fell inlove with each other.

It was such an easy read, though they are some talk about cancer so definitely read trigger warning as it can be sensitive to read about those type of topic.

Overall I rate it 3.5/5⭐️

three stars! ʚïɞ

while this felt waaaay to instalovey for my liking, i did think that i enjoyed this book the most from the series.

i loved maren’s character and i really adored her relationship with her father. the fact that she was willing to fake marry some almost stranger just so her dad could experience walking her down the aisle before passing was just too sweet to me. i also liked oliver a lot, but i’m starting to get irritated with the male characters who swear off love or think they’re broken/ruined/whatever just because like one relationship didn’t work out. i feel like every male character in this series has that type of personality and i am over it!! sick of it!! it’s so stupid

the plot was a bit more on the side eye side for me. i mean, these people haven’t really interacted in 10 years and yet they get hitched and immediately fall in love? not really my jam. everything happened so quickly and i feel like we didn’t really get to see the characters as themselves outside of the fake relationship. idk, i just wasn’t totally a fan but it was really entertaining to say the least.

i also feel like michaels thinks about what the worst possible things that could happen to her characters and then she writes like every single thing. oliver’s illness came so far outta left field and i felt like it was a little too over the edge for the plot.

anyways, overall i’m pretty glad to be done with this series. not sure if i’ll ever pick up any of this author’s other works just yet, but we shall see. this series wasn’t the worst but it also definitely did not hit those expectations that i had before starting it. kinda feeling like i read a totally different series lol ⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚

i hated the beginning because it was very clearly insta-love, but i really enjoyed the rest of the book <3 i felt it had similar vibes to the devil and the deep blue sea (which i LOVED) and oliver... he's perfect en plan the way he'd literally do anything to keep maren happy ❤️. also, i loved all the drama....

I actually really like how this one was written. The girl had all the right intentions and she got to live happily ever after! Took her a lot of bravery to do what she did so I’m happy it worked out for her in the end.

Oliver and Maren

Oliver and Maren know each other from college, where she was Oliver’s girlfriend’s best friend. Now Maren needs a favor, to get married to Oliver so her dad can walk her down the aisle before he’s gone😭 She was originally going to marry a different Oliver and no one met him other than coworkers. Oliver is so used to not being good enough and everyone walking away from him so he’s hesitant.
