KYAAAAAA.... I just fainted, my heart is too weak for cute stuffs!!!!!
Fredericaaaaaaaaaa, girl, you are so well written, so smart, clever, witty, you are my fav heroine of all time!!!!!
I love this book a lottt!!!
The main characters' chemistriy is off the chart!!!
Ntm I had so much fun reading all of their interactions with e.o.
The bantering between our main heroines are jussstttt cheff 💋
Felix and Jessamy in particular are so adorable, they were not only stealing Vernon's cold heart but mine as well!
Charis though, despite being so crazily gorgeous, is a complete airhead. Yet, I didn't find her annoying, just a lil tiny bit frustrating.
Omggg I loved Frederica instantly when I read it for the first time almost 8 years ago! And now I love it moreeeeee... godddd so much fluffs. I LOVE FLUFFS!!! KEEP EM COMING!!!!

DASHING 5⭐️S
This is my favorite heyer's book of all time, hands down.

Remains amongst my favorites of Heyer's books.

I think my favorite thing about it was having the hero's pov as well, and well developed secondary characters.

This! book! yes!
This was so much fun.
  • The characters were great and the way they were portrayed was hilarious (Charis, Endymion and Averstoke) and also heartwarming (Jessamy and Felix). I loved Frederica so much as well. The way that she talks circles around Averstoke was great. The way Averstoke reluctantly forms an attachment to Frederica and her two younger brothers was so lovely. I loved that we were shown how he slowly warmed up to them but somehow he also stays pretty cold towards his own/real relations.
  • Compared to The Grand Sophy we got a lot more emotional landscape from our protagonists, which is a big bonus point for me.
Averstoke realized that he was in love with Frederica and actually decided to do something about it. We saw him come to this realization and we saw him take that decision which was a bit missing for Charles imo.
  • The two idiots (I say this lovingly) Charis and Endymion also added some action towards the end so that we readers wouldn't get bored although there was really no way we were going to be bored with Felix' antics.
It was just a lovely book and I would like to read more books like it.

A complete delight! I enjoyed this so much and laughed a lot at the humor and wit of the story. The hero, Lord Alverstoke - a jaded, selfish, constantly bored rake with a sharp, dry wit - is a wonderfully charismatic character, and the transformation he makes from the start to the end of the story is so much fun. Seeing him get more and more involved in the lives of his distant relation, Frederica Merriville, and her siblings is hilarious and, ultimately, really heartwarming. (I love little Felix! What a hoot that kid is.) The bantering conversations between Frederica and Alverstoke sparkle and their friendship turning gradually to love was genuinely romantic to me.

Memorable scenes (
Spoilerthe Baluchistan hound, Jessamy's pedestrian curricle, the hot air balloon, Felix's illness
, a memorable cast of characters, and a hero and heroine with great chemistry - I loved all of it. This one is going right on my "favorites" list - 5 stars.
