I think this is an important topic to talk about but I won't pretend it's easy to read from the perspective of someone like Silas. He really got on my bad side. Daniel turned out way worse than I expected. The ending really points to the need we have for better gun control and safety.
I will also say Rand's assault was put into grotesque, and dare I say, very unnecessary, detail.

I have read almost all of Hopkins' books and this one is definitely not the best. Not a single character is likeable, they are are horrible and there is no one to root for. The only "good" person in the book is the one everyone seems obsessed with and it seems the only reason why they are "good" is because all the unreliable narrators are obsessed and infatuated with her, not because she is actually a good person. I wish we got some chapters from her perspective as that could have been interesting seeing as the world practically revolved around her for the entire story.

The ending was a bit predictable too if you've read more than a couple of Hopkins books.
