The stylistic mix of prose and poetry telling a poignant story about gun violence made this book incredible. It's a very trigger heavy book, but Hopkins tackles a heavy subject head on and does so with great realism. All the characters act realistically and it's not inconceivable that these people exist. It's a big task to juggle 6 (well, 7) main characters in the way Hopkins does, but it pays off in this book. An excellent written rebuttal to the verbal argument that "guns don't kill people, people kill people".
