Beautiful book. I love the characters and how descriptive the author is, in particular to the life on the mountain. My favourite character was definitely the uncle. I could feel the warmth and love between the grandfather and Heidi.

bland and boring for the most part. I enjoyed the first 100 pages or so, but after that it became repetitive. it could easily have been half the length that it is.
nothing of consequence happens except Heidi visiting Clara, Clara visiting Heidi, and then the obvious "surprise" at the end. none of the characters are particularly compelling (Heidi is nice, but sometimes too sickly sweet), and they don't talk to each other like real people. every second sentence out of their mouths is "We must thank God for these wonderful circumstances!" no matter what is happening.
