Compelling at times. Other times just filled with tropes and most of the villains are borderline cartoon characterish. However there were some enjoyable parts as well.

I feel like this book is a cross between Something Wicked This Way Comes and Summer of Night. 

Of the 3, Boy’s Life was my favorite.
