Firefighters roles have changed, they are no longer charged to putting out fires but starting them. Their sole mission is to burn every book. As a booklover, this really upsets me. As every year passes, this book creeps closer to becoming a reality. It’s not just about the book burning; Bradbury has created a world where simulated relationship and entertainment dominate the home, everyone has their set roles.
Guy Montag’s role is a fireman but like any good protagonist, he beings to question his role in society. What I enjoyed about this novel is it’s told as if it exists in a world without books. The entertainment is the bare bones of conversation and the narration follows that, after all, it’s all Guy knows. It’s more than knowledge and leisure that suffers, it affects the way we express ourselves.

Overrated. 1984 did it better. This book relies on basically one idea and didn't age nearly as well as 1984.

When I first started reading it I kind of hated it. I’m not much of a classics reader. However, it grew on me. I even highlighted some of the sentences. It’s definitely not what I usually read. I do get why it is a classic though, especially in the time it came out. I’m had trouble picturing some of it in my head. But that’s why they made a Michael B. Jordan adaptation 🫦🙂↕️😚
Montag is the goat fr and his wife Millie is a hoe ass bitch that doesn’t deserve him. I bet his muscles are big. Reader men have big muscles and I am so sure of that. I love books about books though so this was cool.
