Not going to lie. I fell in love with Becky - her flaws and screw ups, her addiction, her spirit. The book had a completely happy ending but sometimes it just nice to have that. This was a smooth read and I will DEFINITELY be reading the rest of the series :)
I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could. Enjoyable, but a one-time read.

It took me a few hours to read this, and they were hours wasted, just as I suspected that they would be. The main character, Rebecca, begins the book as a shallow, insipid, thoughtless girl; by the book's end, she's become a mature professional. Unfortunately, there's very little development in between, and I find it hard to believe that the featherbrained woman we're introduced to early on could possibly be savvy enough to make a living as a journalist, let alone hold up her end of the conversation on a date and eventually (and far too fortuitously) land a great job.
The film was better. I technically didn’t finish this book, I got half way and then skipped to the ending. For context l have read all the other books in this series and enjoyed them a lot, this was the only one I hadn’t read. I didn’t enjoy it even though this is an accurate depiction of a shopaholic, because I am one and I get very anxious when I see behaviour similar to mine. This served as a reminder to me to not be like Becky and it made me hate her for it. The story dragged and was quite repetitive whereas the other books in this series have more of an end goal. I’m glad I tried it but I will never read it again.
Fast to read, slightly predictable but not annoying to read
