It's a Widow Thing by Karen Booth

Karen Booth has knocked it out of the park again for the third in the series, It’s A Widow Thing. As a fan of the first two stories, I couldn’t wait for this one to come out. Sabrina and Michael are a match made, well, in an elevator. Sparks fly, hearts pound… a little too much as times— in the story, not for me! I love the entire series giving the older woman the leading role. First with Gray Hair, Don’t Care, and then with Brooklyn Monroe Wants It All- It’s a Widow Thing is perfect! Really hoping that Ms. Booth will add to this series in the future. Read one, read them all. Trust me.

3.5 rounded up.

I enjoyed this love after loss romance featuring 40 year old widow Sabrina and her NYC neighbor Michael. While it's been a while since she lost her husband suddenly to cancer, she's hesitant to try again at love but finds her charming neighbor hard to resist. This was a fun love story with older leads that had a lot of emotional depth! Sabrina with her grief and supportive widow's group and Michael with his heart condition. Good on audio and I think my favorite of the Never too late series that all had older FMC who were NYC boss babes.

I loved Sabrina and Michael, she is finally dipping her toe into the dating pool 2 years after becoming a widow, while he is finally wanting to have a serious relationship after an even that makes his start to take stock of his life. You really connect with them both and feel the emotional struggles they have, fortunately for both they have friends and family along with each other to help them navigate through their attraction. The ladies of A Widow's Way Out crack me up and I enjoyed seeing friendly faces from the last two books, while Michael is a lucky man to have such a great sister in law to get advice from. This is the perfect mix of breathing new life into lives, coming to terms with the past and new beginnings in more way than one.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is an easy, fun read. This is your book if you want something to read between heavy books.

Its sweet and fun and just a good time

Sabrina is widowed and career-focused - however, her neighbour Micheal is changing her focus. Micheal is ready for a relationship, and he wants Sabrina.

It was beautiful watching Sabrina find love again and trust again. Micheal is discovering himself and wants he wants

To see these two grow together was refreshing and sweet.

This was quite a slow burn for me, it took me a while to get into the book but I did enjoy the steam and romance.

I loved Sabrina’s story. She lost her husband, had her own makeup line and was trying to keep her life going. She was achieving so much and I think that’s to be admired. She’s managed to achieve so much in her life despite losing her husband.

I don’t feel like we got to know a lot about Michael. He was a good character but I felt he was a little ‘reserved’ and ‘quiet’? Maybe that was just me.

I loved the chemistry between Michael and Sabrina, I loved the friendship they had and how they seemed so compatible. It was a lovely, sweet romance novel that made you feel super happy inside.

Thank you to @rachelsrandomresources for allowing me a slot on tour and to @karenbbooth for allowing me a copy of your book!

I listened to the audio book and didn’t love the narrator. Sped up to 2x for the last third of the book just to get to the end. Didn’t really care about these characters.
