I thought this book was very cute! I didn’t love the issues with Gabbi’s dad. I already have to deal with a lot of homophobia, I don’t like reading about it. I feel like his homophobia felt very easily written off and I didn’t love that. It was also a bit too slow paced for me. But still a really cute ya book.

I really wanted to like this but this was so mid. I could deal with the petulant attitudes, they are teenagers after all, but the characters felt under baked. Not fully flat, but still very monotone. There were also just characters that did not serve a purpose at all and I would have rather they had been swapped for developing the plot better.
There was zero chemistry. They went from enemies to suddenly crushing hard in two pages and it really tested my suspension of disbelief. "Omg I like him" ... Why? You barely said two words to each other. As well was the plot itself testing my limits for 'romcom bullshit'. This books has such issues with hitting the right points in the right spots. It ended too happy? Is that a thing? Like the solution to each problem was a little too perfect which made it boring and very unrealistic.
Weird pacing, boring characters, and frankly unrealistic and underdeveloped plot.
Don't waste your time.
