It's okay if you like spy thriller fiction, which I am moderately indifferent to.

I liked this book a lot. I read Shaw #2 first, not knowing anything about the series. After I read the second book, I had to know more about Shaw and his background. We still don't know what agency Shaw is working for, but they are legitimate, as the partnership with the FBI demonstrates. Baldacci can really do some good writing. I've read other books of his and enjoyed them. I like Shaw, and I'm looking forward to reading some more.

I felt that this was your standard rush about and save the world international thriller. I enjoyed that the point of view switched between the characters but understand that some would find that such a style ruins the suspense that some people enjoy in this genre. Kudos for have a platonic male/female duo in the lead role.

These books are so cheesy and so full of patriotism it’s really hard to like them, but I don’t feel like criticizing the story or writing just because I think they’re silly.

The Whole Truth is the first underwhelming Baldacci that I have read.

The story is disjoint and goes all over the place. The characters are stereotypical. The hero is your typical strong alpha male type and the villain a campy old school james bond type. In fact he even has a sub in his yacht like Karl Stromberg in The Spy Who Loved Me and his nefarious scheme reminded me of Eliot Carver's plan to start a war in Tomorrow Never Dies.

Overall, it was unsatisfying and I am pissed off since I have to read the next book in this series too.

An excellent book to listen to on the treadmill and walks. This may be my favorite Baldacci yet.

Pretty entertaining and a very quick read. Good in between some of the slightly heavier stuff!

This was a slow starter for me, but once Katie and Shaw met, I was hooked. The conspiracy is deep, actually plausible, and I think it does raise some questions about what the “truth” of anything really is — especially in the digital age. I had a hard time respecting Katie, but I wasn’t unhappy with how things turned out. Not my absolute favorite Baldacci, but definitely a book he shouldn’t be ashamed of.
