Oh my lord!! What a book to start the year off with! This book was wild to say the least. I felt like every time I thought knew what was happening there was another twist that left me dumbfounded. I absolutely fell in love with the characters and their little relationships between them. The different POVs from all the characters were written beautifully! There were a few parts in the middle of book seemed to drag a bit, but they were pretty easy to navigate quickly. Overall, definitely a 5 star read for me and I don’t know what took me so long to read it!
Nico and Gideon better end up together in the second book! Also Erza!!! You snake!!! Also the almost 3some… 👀

The pretentiousness that runs through the entirety of this book ruins what is an interesting premise. It started out strong but has long bursts of stagnant character development and the sense of waiting for the other shoe to drop, which, when it does, is rushed and not as satisfying as one would hope. It tries too hard to be clever but fails to hit, and comes off as a pick-me novel.

“Really, there was nothing more dangerous than a woman who knew her own worth.”

“Knowledge is carnage. You can’t have it without sacrifice.”

5/5⭐️

This was an incredible book full of magic and mystery.
I loved the dark academia vibes & the secrets behind every door.
The multiple POV’s read very well and were fun being in every persons head (like Parisa😂).
I loved the diversity of the characters & the big twist at the end had me gasping out loud!!!!
Olivie Blake has an excellent writing style that I already ordered the next two books after this because I’m dying for more. (And 2 of Blake’s other books 😂)
