Picked it up because the blurb made it seem like the book will explore that ‘in-between’ phase when everything and everyone around you is changing and you don’t know where your life is headed or what’s happening next.

The first 50 or so pages were alright, even with the weird crack in the sky that gets zero mention in the blurb. After that it just becomes a self-centred whinge-fest, perpetuating many of the female millennials stereotypes that are overdone and long overdue to be left behind.

Don’t pick up this book if you’re in a good mood. But if the election has you spiraling and you’re in the mood to embrace your inner cynic, this one’s perfect. It’s packed with miserable, terrible characters that’ll match your vibe.

Still struggling a bit to formulate my thoughts, but I think I liked this? This is a book that I would’ve devoured one or two years ago, but now it just made me feel sad for the person who I was back then. The blurred line between our cyberspace and physical space is intriguing and this book captured that perfectly. Sophie was a complicated main character. Her thoughts were painfully relatable, especially the bits on feeling alien in your own body. It’s one of those book where you don’t really know who to root for, everyone was kind of a dick.

I wish the apocalyptic part was explored more, but I understand that was not the point of the book. The ending felt a little rushed imo, I just wish it gave me a sense of closure and it didn’t.
