A beautifully written tribute to the late Nelson Mandela. I wish someone would do this for Maya Angelou.

A nice way to cap off Angelou's complete poetry - outward looking, reflective, rich to the point of musical

This is a short poem with many photos celebrating Nelson Mandela after his death. Hardly qualifies as a book but great reading.

This book was shared with me through a grab bag from the library. I requested poetry books and this one was in the sack. I am so glad it fell into my hands. Two lovely people who made such huge marks on our world: Mandela and Angelou. Both gone but not forgotten.

"No sun outlasts its sunset
But will rise again
And bring the dawn.
Yes, Mandela's day is done."

This is a fitting tribute to a great man that was written by an iconic poet. It some very good photos from Mandela's life. The poem itself is okay but not as good as the one she wrote for President Clinton's inauguration.

Who better to give a tribute, than the wonderful Maya Angelou? She tore at my heartstrings with this one.

An amazing tribute about an amazing man!

Maya Angelou is always a favorite, and so is Nelson Mandela so this short book was a win for me no matter what. I loved her poem, and it was nothing short of what I expected from the great poet and novelist that is Ms. Angelou.

He has offered us understanding.
We will not withhold forgiveness.
Even from those who do not ask.
Nelson Mandela's day is done.
We confess it in tearful voices
Yet we lift our own to say:
Thank you.

It was beautiful. Very good, indeed. If only I could have more.
