Pretty fun thriller. I'm not entirely sure if I'm on board with the heroes' motives though. Definitely a book for fans of 24.

Audio version - typical "spy" thriller in the Mitch Rapp series providing escapism for my mind during long drives. This one spent a bit more time making the terrorists more believable and human. It's hard to see what else the author can do with these characters now.

Another good one from Flynn. The only thing that kept it from being 4 stars was the cursing that I didn't care for and felt was not necessary.

Wow! Wasn't this an action packed book full of non-stop adventure, violence, throughout. And the thrills!

This book takes place about a week after the preceding novel. Mitch and his pals are hunting down the three escaped terrorists from the Washington attack. Amongst this main plot element, there was the subplot of Mitch trying to figure out who was responsible for the leaking classified information which led to one of Mitch’s operatives being murdered in the previous book.

I think the reason why this book felt a little bit more action packed than some of the previous ones is because so much of the setup had already been done. We saw the terrorists plot develop, we saw the attack take place, and now the hunt is on. The slowest parts of the story were probably the chapters from the terrorist perspective where they are trying to run but their leader keeps making stupid mistakes. This was very frustrating, me thinking ‘wtf are you doing???’.

I think this book really juxtaposed Nash and Rapp. It showed what Rapp could've been… what he could have been with Maureen, or if Anna hadn’t been murdered. The life that Mitch deserved. I think we also see Rapp come to terms with the fact that he lost everything that he valued in life, therefore, he makes the decision (which wasn’t really his to make) that he would would protect these for Nash by taking away his ability to do fieldwork… I don't think Rapp realised how much jeopardy this could actually put Nash and his family in. I'm interested to see how the relationship between Nash and Rapp progresses moving forward now that Nash is technically Rapp’s boss.

Like always I love the inclusion of Scott Coleman, Stan Hurley, and some of the other characters. It also introduced a Russian oligarch of sorts and I wonder how that is going to come into play in the subsequent subsequent novels, especially because it seems that Rapp now owes the Russian some favours. We also see Rapp working with both English and French counterparts and I wonder if they will have something to do with the subsequent novels as well.

Overall not a bad book I finished it in two days which is pretty much unheard of for me with these novels that usually take me quite awhile to get through.

This book was really fun, especially because it is different than what I usually read.

Couldn't put it down
