3.5 - More self-help than memoir.
Really enjoyed learning about Payal's journey to creating ClassPass and the challenges she faced. It wasn't always the most relatable to me as the advice she shares is so specific to her entrepreneurial field or what she has experienced. However, it was comforting to hear about how she was able to take her corporate blues and translate it into something fruitful in her leap of faith. I was a bit curious as to what efforts they did on top of revamping their website when they were facing low sign-ups - like marketing? How to balance the team working on it? etc
She did give good advice about goal setting though:
1. Schedule your goals
2. Learn to say no
3. Check in with your progress
4. Be accountable to your goals
5. Share your goals
6. Keep your dream words close

Good read, not everything was applicable to me, but that's okay. I really like her quarterly planning method, plus she has a very inspirational story. I picked this book up after listening to her interview on Dave Asprey's podcast.

Payal explains her life’s story and thoughts in a succinct and articulate way. She challenges the reader to journal or think about a series of question regarding their life, current habits, changes he or she wants to make, and goals. Once I created my goals in the “Lifepass Method” section I understood the purpose of why she created this book. I see it as an inspiration for others. I almost DNF after the Lifepass Method’s example prompts from her peers - it was a conclusion that became repetitive and a bit preachy for my liking, but I powered through it and ended up being worth it. Overall, great book and highly recommend for people who need a good self help book.
