Stephen Fry retells the many Greek myths which tell the tales of origins and metamorphoses in a clear, humorous, and always entertaining manner. I listened to the audiobook, which Fry also narrates, and enjoyed the spirit that he put into his telling.

Stephen Fry takes you on a divine journey across Greek mythology, explaining detail after detail of the lives, loves, and lies of each of the gods and goddesses. I probably would never have known as much about myths as I do now as I can retell the origins of something as simple as honey! Spoken in the audiobook, Fry’s voice is easy to listen to and animated, although I do recommend listening on an increased speed!

A very fun and informative retelling of the Greek myths as told by Stephan Fry himself. The author describes how he took the myths and gave there his own spin while staying true to the stories themselves.

The book is very well written and I liked how the stories were told in a more modern voice. Personally I would have enjoyed it more if there were fewer stories but each a bit longer. There were often long sections between stories just explaining how everyone is relayed to everything. And while that is interesting, there was just too much detail to be able to remember all of it. So I would’ve preferred if it was a little less in-depth and thorough

It was firmly fine. The voice of the author tended to make me cringe, and I would have appreciated more clarification on how many liberties were taken with the retelling. It was an enjoyable enough read as someone who's always loved greek mythology and very readable. That said, completing it was more of a chore than anything else
