Holy shit, I blew threw this volume! What an adorable, squee-worthy story about two boys starting a relationship!

I don't have a lot to say that isn't me squeeing nonstop, but something I do want to mention is that I'm thrilled I finally found a m/m romance I can root for. I don't know if other anime/manga fans think this way, but to me it seems like there are more slow-burn/romantic lesbian stories and FAR more hard-core, sexual gay stories. The problem I see is that it's perpetuating this idea that gay relationships are meant to be sexualized while lesbian stories should be more romantic (not to say all of them are, I read Citrus and am sure there are more like that out there). Thus, when this series went on sale and having heard it's considered a classic, I jumped at the opportunity to read it and see why it's held in such high regard. And just from this first volume, I totally get it and am so down for this romance!

Mini rant aside, I do really like this relationship and love our two main leads. Kusakabe is such a hyper nutbar and Sajo is so serious yet shy and I ADORE their dynamic. The art style/artwork can be a little difficult to follow sometimes, but I do really like it, especially the expressions the characters make. There's not much to discuss story wise, since it's a typical romance, but that's fine. Sometimes simple is better.

This was a great start to the series and I'm hoping to binge the rest of it cuz I need more cute in my life. Love it, highly recommend it!

I had watched the movie adaptation a few years ago, so when I saw that the series had been translated in French, I decided to buy all of them without thinking.

Now I finally got around to start reading them and oh my gosh, what a delight it was! The art style is unique but lovely, and I really enjoyed how the story develops. It's sweet, relatable and quite easy to follow. Definitely a comfort read in the future!
