I devoured this. Elisa Gabbert has written a stunning essay collection so attuned to the moment that reading it was (for me, at least) such catharsis. Is it strange to find comfort in words about doom and disaster and disassociation from ourselves? Hard to say. What I can state with certainty is that I'll be recommending this title for many, many months to come.
If you want a taste of what the collection includes -- and are looking for an essay eerily relevant to this year -- read "The Great Mortality" here: https://reallifemag.com/the-great-mortality/.

Moderate: Grief and Death
The essays speak at length about our relationship to (natural) disaster.
