Did I love this book, yes
Did I cry, also yes
How many time Am I going to say “everyone said this book is sad but I’m almost finished and it’s not even sad” before I finally believe that it is in fact sad because this is the 3rd book I’ve said that too
Besides the point I liked the story, I liked Todd, Neil, and Mr Keating the most out of the characters.
The idea of a little group of boys reading poems in a cave is interesting to me
Oh and of course I like a midsummers night dream and especially puck so adding that into this made me like it even more

Dead Poets Society is my favourite movie ever, and I really enjoyed reading it as a book. I liked that it included some of the deleted scenes from the movie, especially Todd reading his poem in the cave. However I disliked what they did to Knox's character in terms of liking Chris. I always found the scene at the party to be weird and uncomfortable and the book made Knox do even worse to her and if you only read the book you'd wonder why she even agreed to go out with him after that. But overall I'm super happy with the book of my favourite movie.
The only good parts are the speech that is in the film and a couple words
I've never read a novel that was a movie first and honestly this wasn't a super good introduction to it. The story itself was good but the writing fell pretty flat.
As a girl who loves the film, I thought I would love this as well. I heard it was based on the original screenplay and I thought it would be like the movie but with extra scenes included. Honestly, it’s bad writing, I cannot get past how plain dumb the writing sounds at times. As well as I feel it adds nothing to the story, I find it hard to pick up the book and start reading again and I decided I will just stop torturing myself and give up on it. I’ll just go rewatch the movie.

If there’s one word to describe what I’m feeling right now, it’s devastated.
How do you move on from someone with so much potential and talent, gone just like that?
As Todd said, “He loved living!” — so while he may have held the gun, it was the father who pulled the trigger.
This is a great read. My only complaint is that it’s too short — I want more from these characters.
