The book is good solely because the movie on which it's based is good. Also added an unnecessary SA scene that really takes a character from weird obsessed teen to actual creep that should be locked up behaviour.
Watch the movie instead !

this was just unnecessary, its like reading the movie except 10x worse and ruined the story for me. also ruined the queer undertones amd the characters

I've read the book, seen the movie, seen the play and almost bought a second edition. I love this book.
Dead Poets Society is one of my all time favourite movies. The book was... okay.
I liked that it included some of the deleted scenes from the movie but I felt like it was lacking in some way. It missed some of my favourite lines and scenes from the movie, but that’s more of a personal thing.
Another issue I had was the modifications of certain scenes. The scene with Chris and Knox at the party, though it already made me uncomfortable in the movie, was made much worse in the book. There were a couple parts in the novel where I felt uncomfortable with certain things with similar themes as the scene with Chris and Knox. But again, that might just be me.
