I adore the film and really enjoyed this read. Though the prose is not exactly phenomenal and it at times felt like reading a movie script.
Many emotional beats actually paled in comparison to the film adaptation. The only strength the book has is that you are able to spend more time reading the poetry and prose that they quote and read together — which is much more telling about them as characters than I had appreciated in the movie.
However it’s a great story and this was a great reminder of these characters I loved on screen.
