So what was that? You know, I had seen the spoiler on, like, TikTok or Instagram Reels or something, and I thought it wasn't real. I thought they were joking and it was some alternate reality or something; I don't know. Sadly, I was wrong. Before chapter 14, everything was great. Very much Gilmore Girls, very fall, very chill. It was a nice vibe—chill, simple, and a short read. It was poetic. I loved seeing Todd get out of his shell, and I loved seeing Neil find his passion in acting. It felt very much like brotherly love between everybody in the Dead Poets Society. The scene with Chris (which, in my opinion, should've been Chrissy because I accidentally thought Knox was gay multiple times) at the party was a little weird. It didn't add much to the story. I thought it was unnecessary.
I thought this was a great way to get people introduced to poetry as well. The story was well developed, and everything made sense.
What was really funny was how I went on a trip and I didn't finish the book. I had finished chapter 13 and was about to start chapter 14, but I didn't bring it with me on the trip. I'm very happy I didn't bring it on my trip. I would've been sad. I should've never continued reading. I should've just abandoned it, and I would've forever hadNeil in his room, and the Dead Poets would be sad Neil was in trouble, but they would've continued the secret society because that's what Neil would've wanted, and the English professor would've kept teaching. Hopefully something would happen where that idiot Cameron would have left; maybe he had too much homework, he picked up a new sport, or he got a girlfriend. I don't know, but he shouldn't be there. He should've died instead of Neil; that would be a better ending.
I understand whythey killed Neil , but I'm very mad. The effect it's giving me is, I assume, what the author wanted.
Because of the emotion and passion gave me, along with it being a good introduction to poetry and well written, I give it 4.25 out of five stars
