I liked some of the characters, but the plot was a bit too boring for me. Not imaginative enough as this has been done literary hundreds of times before. I came in with way more expectations.

4.5 rounded up.

I ached with the characters in this story, and it ridiculously moved me. 2 negatives: I feel like the ending was rushed and the last sex scene was the only unnecessary sex scene in the book.

Everything else about this book is beyond amazing. The writing is simple but moving. The characters are flawed but jaded and perfect and I loved them.

I was annoyed at the constant POV switch but it still worked well. This book has a lot of triggers, violence, non con, rape is mentioned. Nothing is too explicit and I really appreciated that. It really goes to show good writing that the book can have gory details without being a trigger for the reader/listener. The narrators weren’t perfect but Rain’s voice and Iggy Toma were fantastic.
