I like it for george, but it's not his best. The stories are not deep like (the song of ice and fire) where's Dothraki tales ?? .. The language wasn't bold as well .. but oke I will consider it a kind of prologue for the stories.
The artworks in the novel are pretty fantastic.

I feel like a biased reviewer when it comes to the A Song of Ice and Fire series. The book could be horrendous and I could still give it 5 stars, just because I feel the need to, but this one really does deserve 5 stars!

There's more than just history in this book, there's artwork, history, maps, etc. It shows what the major castles look like, it gives insight on the Targaryen Legacy, it even has a little info on Robert's Rebellion and the fall of the Targaryens.

It's utterly beautiful on the inside, plus I'm a sucker for a book that has pictures. I mean... who isn't.

A generally exciting read if you're into the lore. Some of the chapters on each region of Westeros were dull, but everything else (history of the Targaryen kings, early history of the world, descriptions of each region beyond Westeros) manages to stay interesting enough that they make you want to learn more about the world.
