The book was full of misogyny, machismo, and violence, but didn’t strongly condemn them. It focused more on the evils of drugs and alcohol, often using them as excuses for the behavior. I was expecting a deeper message beyond "drugs bad, god good."

This was honestly one of the best biographies I’ve ever read. As someone in sobriety, his story of redemption and helping others through the program is amazing. It’s heartbreaking and uplifting.
