I listened to the audiobook of, “The Empress of Time” and throughly enjoyed this read. This is the second book of a duology by Kylie Lee Baker and is fantasy based with lots of suspense. I loved the love story that is present in this second book, and was not expecting the twists at the end. The twists were so well-done and surprised me as a reader. It felt like characters were pretty mapped out in this second book and the twist knocked me off my feet. I would highly recommend this duology to anyone!

Just like the first in the series I think this was fun, albeit dark. Nothing profound to say about it really.

I do like the character of Ren even though she’s written to be quite unlikable. I found her interesting and different from other female protagonists I’ve been reading lately.

I think my rating is severely affected by me having forgotten what happened at the end of the first book.

I really enjoyed the duology. A good mix of Japanese folklore, action, relationships, and character twists
