It took me forever to finish this book because it wants you to root for the wrong characters and the wrong couple. The side characters are fine, but the two characters who end up together are almost always selfish and passive-aggressive to each other.
The dialogue was also pretty cringy sometimes, especially when it was Romy talking. I found her and the excessive hostility towards the other best friend (his name escapes me) irritating when he was far more genuine and supportive throughout the book.
I did like how the main character (can’t remember her name either but it sounded like a typical quirky romance MC nickname) would describe how she would set up scenes if her experiences were in a movie. Those parts were always interesting to me. The chemistry between her and the other love interest felt natural, too.
