All the characters were so one dimensional. The main character was very immature with no arc. It makes sense that she was immature to start with but she didn’t grow until one magical moment when she transformed into an enlightened gay at the very end. Some of the writing felt unnatural, especially during romantic or spicy scenes. Just felt like the author was trying too hard

The foreshadowing in this book is written on the biggest neon sign you've ever seen.
By making it so obvious that Romy was in love with Luna the whole time and that Luna was just ignoring her own feelings, the entire "romance" with Valeria seemed almost pointless.

The characters themselves read much younger than they were,  and there was a very odd emphasis on the 5 year age gap between Luna and Valeria when 24 and 29 is a perfectly normal difference in ages.

It was recommended by my Queen Rachel Lynn Solomon, so you know I had to read it ASAP!

It was a beautiful book that was very relatable to this late-blooming bisexual with characters that were fun and sweet. The "love triange" was actually written well in a way that I didn't hate, as someone who doesn't normally like them. I enjoyed the plot and the discourse on queer life, what being out means, and virginity, which felt like commentary while also fitting into the plot very well. I wasn't sure who Luna was going to end up with for most of the book, which kept me engaged and interested until the last page.

I wanted Luna to have a little bit more personality, especially since all of the other characters felt bigger and more fleshed out than her. I understand anxiety, but she just didn't have enough agency in her own life. Lastly, she needs a new therapist, she doesn't seem to trust that one...

I received a copy from Netgalley for review.

So I have like super mixed feelings about this book. On one hand "yay bisexual coming out story", which we totally need more of in the world, and on the other, the main character was almost insufferable. I almost DNF'd this book several times throughout the story, because Luna was just the worst. She was somehow stubborn, non confrontational (derogatory), chaotic, too eager to implement and didn't listen to a single piece of advice that anyone INCLUDING HER THERAPIST gave her. While I appreciate representation (I also identify as bisexual), the cost of reading this was a lot. There's rampant external and internal biphobia that Luna doesn't really work through at all until like the last few pages and all of her questions and gripes just magically disappeared. Idk it was off putting. She never really learned to step up for herself which was irritating as heck.

Overall though, I think there will be people that really enjoy this. It's not necessarily for me to re-read again.
