It makes me so sad that I didn't enjoy this as much as I wanted to! First off, the pacing was unbalanced. Essentially, the characters were very two-dimensional and sure
there were some enjoyable(all Val scence) moments, but not enough of them. This was a miss for me.

where do i start with sizzle reel?
luna is a self-described disaster bisexual that enforces a lot of her homophobic and biphobic views onto herself for no reason. luna is described several times in the novel as a "diverse voice" (both in ironic and non-ironic ways), while essentially being a white girl whose parents pay for her rent, but she also happens to be jewish (the book seems this as "not counting" in hollywood, btw) and newly bisexual.
luna, who comes out as bisexual at the beginning of this book, is so insecure in her sense of self and her sexuality. she constantly invalidates the experiences she has with men and women because she has rigid concepts of virginity and sex that no one else holds in this book. this makes all of the relationships in this book feel really awkward and forced. + it makes all the "intimate scenes" so bad.
luna is also a horrible clout chaser? like basically uses valeria to get a job + catapult herself into queerness? bc she believes she cant be queer without proving herself (in that case, why did she come out at the beginning of the book? the author could have explored the denial aspect in a more interesting way if luna had to struggle with naming her queerness).
luna's workplace is comically evil. when luna is outed at work by her exboyfriend/current best friend, her boss immediately takes a selfie with her and posts it with a caption about diverse hiring. i wanted to throw my book across the room.
my biggest issue with this book is that luna views her sexuality as very removed from romy's and val's experiences of queerness. she treats bisexuality as this magical kingdom (that no that she has not yet entered. she is my age (newly 24 over here, ;p) but feels so young.
my least favorite thing/the thing that made me laugh the most is that all the outfits in this book seems so simple but are described as so hot. luna wears a pair of overall shorts + a crop top (basic everyday outfit) and shes described as the hottest person ever. valeria wears a bralette under a suit jacket to a party and luna is foaming at the mouth.

I was very much looking forward to this book but unfortunately I didn't vibe with it. Luna was oblivious but harmless and Romy kind of annoyed me. I really liked Valeria, honestly she brought the book up for me. I don't think the romantic relationship that was ultimately endgame was developed properly. Yes I could see the author's intent but it just didn't work for me. Also Luna and Romy kept letting Wyatt get away with stupid things because he's a straight white man. Like seriously?
(That .5 is solidly due to Valeria)

Points for representation (which, after reading some of the reviews, is perhaps more flawed than I initially thought), but the bottom line is that I didn't enjoy this. I just struggled with the fact that the main character seemed to think losing her virginity was a priority equal to or greater than her actual job, and consistently self-sabotaged her career as a result. She read very immature, even for a 24-year-old.
