It's a good book.
I just adore the way Sarah J Maas describes food and clothing ❤️ it really makes me happy. I just wish that for once the main character in a Sarah J Maas book would appreciate the clothing and food, as much as I do 😂
That being said: I HATE, HATE, HATE the German cover. What is that dress ?why isn't it ironed ? what is that pose ? why is she holding the bow that way ? what is with the hair ? Why are there butterflies ? Is she standing in a cloud or in the snow ? And why ?
Just change the cover please and I'll give you one more star.
I think the problem I had with this book is that I couldn't connect to any of the characters. Most seemed extremely unrealistic in the way they acted or thought.
I think it's important that we explore toxic relationships in literature. I just don't think Sarah J Maas was able to do it. Both Tamlin and Rhysand seemed like toxic people. Although some red flags were mentioned, they were never really discussed in depth (maybe in the next book?)
Feyre seemed so bland, even though she had new powers and all.
I did find it interesting to read how she coped with her guilt, trauma and realationship.
I also dislike the way Sarah J Maas describes bodies. It feels so objectificating and made me uncomfortable. She alludes to the fact that there are good and bad bodies/bodyshapes.  Which is BS.
The sexscenes where okay. Very clichee fantasy book sex.
The characters I was most interested in are Elain and Nesta and neither was in the book long enough.
