I love Hazel. I found the way she viewed the world to be very interesting.  I like how she and Corbin complemented each other. The friend group was such fun.

After reading book one in this series, and really enjoying it, I was looking forward to diving into Hazel's book next. I've become a huge fan of Claire Kingsley and her characters, and she didn't disappoint with Hazel and Corbin. I found their story better than book one's, and I couldn't get enough of them.

I'm a huge fan of quirky, unique and nerdy characters, and although you get at least one of those characters in many romance books, very rarely do you see it in both the hero and heroine. Corbin and Hazel are a pair of "nerds" and are loud and proud about it, which made for such an enjoyable read. Their awkward moments like—spitting out random animal facts when nervous, or failing at being seductive because it's unnatural to do, was so endearing. And once the awkwardness would fade, they would absolutely sizzle with chemistry and heat. Despite being out of touch nerds, Corbin and Hazel were fire in the bedroom, which was surprising but so enjoyable!

What would normally infuriate me in other romances, didn't in this. Both characters are so disconnected with their emotions and feelings, and they've never had to address or confront them. Their whole lives have evolved around studying other humans emotions and behaviors. So when moments would arise, neither knew what to do or say, so rather getting annoyed at the situation or either character; I found myself feeling sorry for them—in turn made me absolutely swoon during their sweet moments and when they would make up.

If you've read Claire Kingsley's books, you already know that she writes incredible side characters. Corbin's twin is a sister every person would love to have & Hazel's girl gang is goals. This is one of my favourite things about Claire's stories, not only does she wrote enthralling MCs, but side characters too.

Overall, I loved this story so very much & it was perfect for Hazel and Corbin. Now I would like my very own penguin, thanks!

This author is just so fucking unserious. Characters acting out of character out of nowhere, TERRIBLE CRINGY dialogue. Just.

Also what’s up with the high school mean girl characters?? AND THE DIALOGUE WAS ATROCIOUS GOOD LORD
