Best one!!

This was a really enjoyable read. I wasn’t blown away by season 3 of Bridgerton so I kind of put off reading this one and I wish I hadn’t because it was fantastic. I thought the story was improved by the time jump and the fact that Penelope and Colin, and obviously the rest of the cast of characters, were older and more set in their ways so when they changed their behavior or their minds about something it was more impactful. Lady Danbury was exceptional in this book and seeing her and Penelope’s friendship grow was really beautiful. The way Colin reveals the truth about Lady Whistledown was so moving and he really is just such a perfect man. The whole twist with Eloise at the end was really good and I’m excited to see where the story goes next. This was very well written and all of the characters were memorable and enjoyable—except Cressida obviously because she’s just a horrible person—and it was really nice to learn more about Colin and Penelope and how well they actually fit together. The spicy scenes in this were delicious, nothing over the top explicit, but still very satisfying.

Probably 3.5/5 stars for me. Very cute, the banter was my favorite part. However I found Colin rather unlikable for most of the book. The second epilogue got me wanting to read Eloise’s story but as I picked this one up on a whim (and admittedly because I adore the show and am excited for the next season) I’m not sure if I’ll keep reading.
